Food Ordering System

Abstract
The popularity of Restaurants is ever increasing Day-by-Day. Accordingly, the number of Restaurants-goers has increased too. Taking advantage of the advancement in technology, this project aims to apply a digital touch to the way restaurant works and in order to increase its popularity among customers. This aims to replace the traditional food ordering system in restaurant with tablet or phone food ordering.

The Customer, on entering the restaurant and occupies his desired table, will be welcomed with a tablet or mobile fixed to his Table. Each Table has a fixed tablet from where the Customer can see the menu and place the order of his desire. The order confirmation directly sends to the Kitchen from where the cook prepares the food. After the order completion he sends the order to the corresponding Table directly through Waiter. The Customer can post his feedback depending upon his experience.

The current system is paper based. Papers are used in restaurants for displaying the traditional menu cards, writing down the orders of Customers, storing the records of Customer. In this system papers are easily damaged by stain marks, they can be lost in general. Hence time and money is wasted. For small changes, reprinting the entire menu card is impossible and cannot be done dynamically.

This document specifies the requirements for a restaurant paper menu and ordering replacement strategy to alleviate the problems associated with the current basic old method, by replacing paper menu with electronic medium i.e. a digital tablet or phone. The risk of manual errors is eliminated, thus eliminating the communication barrier. The tablet displays all the information the customer needs to know about the order he has placed.

The Customer Choice will be directly sent to the tablet in the Kitchen and the cook prepares the food to the customer and sends it to the table. The Bill should be paid to the waiter through payment modes and the customer can leave the Restaurant.

The Owner has the permission to change the menu and prices details in the menu. Owner has the record of number of orders placed and money he received and can further calculate his Profit/Loss.
