Online College Magazine

Objective:

The main objective of Online College Magazine is creating and managing an Online College Magazine where college students and faculties can post and read various articles, thus promoting literary insight. Articles can be searched by anybody in the world. Factors behind the motivation of this system are:

·        Not all students make it to the printed magazine.

·        Creativity of students needs to be nurtured.

·        Creating a user-friendly interactive place where students/faculties can share their ideas.

Existing System:

·        management of all the users properly.

·        This manual system gives us very less security for saving data and some data may be lost due to mismanagement.

·        The system is giving only less memory usage for the users.

·        The system doesn’t provide facility to track all the activities of student and faculties.

·        The system doesn’t provide any facility to maintain any feedback option for users.

·        To maintain this system is highly expense and slow process.

·        The system doesn’t provide users to see the articles. 

·        This existing system is not providing secure registration and profile

Proposed System:

The development of this new system contains the following activities, which try to automate the entire process keeping in the view of database integration approach.

• This system maintains user’s personal, address, and contact details.
• User friendliness is provided in the application with various controls provided by system rich user interface.
• This system provides the article in the secured manner to use the PDF files. So user can’t change the articles.
• Various classes have been used for maintain the details of all the users   and catalog.
• Authentication is provided for this application only registered users can access to post the articles.
• Report generation features is provided using to generate different kind of reports.
•  The system provides facilities to track the all activities of faculties and students.
• System also tracks the feedbacks online.
• System also provides facility to upload and view articles and articles information.      
• System provides facility to users can see and read the articles.
• This system is providing more memory for the users to maintain data.
• This system is providing accessibility control to data with respect to user’s feedback.

Module Description

  

1.Admin Module

         In this module the user can register an another admin. He can here also view all the application details of an applicant. he also  can update status of an application. And he can also generate reports using report module.He can have the authority to delete moderators as well as add moderators.

2.Moderators Module

             In this module he can view the articles posted by the registered members.He have to receive the queries and give them answers on rejection of articles .He have all the permisions like Admin.

3.Registered Members Module(Student Or Faculty)

            The register members can  post the articles.They can view their profiles and the articles list.how many articles are accepted by moderator and how many rejected.They can post the queries regarding the rejection of articles.The can receive the solution from the moderator  to the rejection of articles.

4. Guest/Anonymous Module(UnregisteredMembers)

                  These people can have reading the articles and download the articles.They don’t have permision to change the article.They have to comments on the reading articles.

5.Security And Authentication Module

          The user details should be verified against the details in the user tables and if it is valid user, they should be entered into the system. Once entered, based on the user type access to the different modules to be enabled / disabled and individual user can change their default password or old password.

6.Reports Module

    In this Module the Administrator can generate the different types of Reports according to their access.
