ABSTRACT
In this project, the aim is to
combine the unique technologies of both Android and ‘Travel solutions’ and
create a powerful web application related to Indian tourism.
A
Travel solution is a new type of web application,that brings together several
sources of data to form a unique new combination of information.
Here,
all the required information of a tourist visiting India is in the same place. The
project aims to build this information system in a Mobile phone using the
latest technology in the market namely Google Android SDK
Vision of the Project
The
project aims to build this information system in a Mobile phone using the
latest technology in the market namely Google Android SDK. TRAVEL SOLUTIONS ON
ANDROID’ is done by dividing India into 4 zones North, West, East, and South
India mashed up with a Google map of India. Important tourist attraction places
at each of these zones are given. Apart from knowing where the place is located
using the Google map, the tourist also knows information on those places,
travel details (railways, roadways and airways), places to
stay(hotels),prominent eateries(restaurants) and shopping details at those
places all at one place. This is made possible by ‘mashing up’ of information
from several sources.
Scope of the Project
The scope of the incredible Indian travels is as
follows:
- To develop
a user interface which provides the user the ability to select the
required tourist place among North, West, East and South India.
- Know the
history and significance of the tourist place
- View and
select travel details to the tourist using all 3 ways.
- Select his
choice of stay, eateries based on various ratings and parameters
- Know
prominent shopping locations pertaining to that place
